A Traditional Marish Poem: Marish Stew
A traditional poem of the Marish, where the best sheep are from, told and re-told every year when the wind comes from the north and folks need a bit of a warming tale ...

Some like fish fresh from the ocean,
And some like a bit of pig's fry;
Some like mushroom soup, I've a notion,
While others like a pudding and a pie!
For all sorts of stomachs there are dainties,
But the best feed between I and you,
Is some mutton with onions and potatoes,
Made into a real Marish stew.
then hurrah for a Marish stew,
That will stick to your belly like glue;
The folk of the Marish for ever,
And three cheers for a real Marish stew.

(Not an original poem, so feel free to share and re-tell where ever and whenever folks look a little chilly)
